QUESTION
Should I buy a 55-inch or 65-inch TV?
For most people, a 65-inch TV is the better buy if your room and budget can fit it. It’s noticeably more immersive and gives you about 40% more screen area than a 55-inch TV.
Choose 55-inch instead if:
- your room is small or you sit fairly close,
- your wall or stand space is tight,
- or you’d rather spend the money on a better TV class (for example, a premium 55-inch OLED) instead of just more inches.
A simple way to decide is to think about your room and seating distance: if a larger TV would feel crowded, go 55. If you have the space and want a more cinematic feel, go 65.
Also, price isn’t always a straight size comparison: sometimes a premium 55-inch TV can cost about the same as a mid- to high-tier 65-inch TV, so it’s worth comparing the exact models you’re considering.
Always measure your actual stand width or wall space before buying, since TV feet and mounting setups can take more room than the panel itself.
