QUESTION
Should I buy the Canon R50 or Sony ZV-E10 II for product videos?
For product videos, I’d lean toward the Sony ZV-E10 II for most people. It’s the more video-focused choice, and its APS-C E-mount ecosystem gives you plenty of lens options for close-up product work.
The Canon EOS R50 makes sense if you want a more hybrid camera for both photos and video, or if you specifically want a built-in electronic viewfinder (EVF) for framing outdoors or in bright light. The Sony ZV-E10 II does not include an EVF.
For filming products on a desk or table, the Sony is usually the better fit. If you expect to do a lot of still photography too, or you prefer having an EVF, the Canon is easier to justify.
If you’re choosing between them mainly for product videos, I’d pick the Sony ZV-E10 II unless the Canon’s EVF or broader hybrid use is a bigger priority for you.
