Is the Ford Ranger Lariat worth it over the XLT?

For most buyers, the Ford Ranger XLT is the better value. If you’re comparing new Rangers, the XLT usually makes sense when the Lariat premium is roughly $3,000–$5,000 or more for similar equipment. A typical new-price difference is often around $2,500–$6,000 depending on packages and incentives, while a used-price gap is commonly closer to $2,000–$4,500 for similar condition and mileage.

Worth it if: you want the truck as a daily driver, care about a nicer cabin, and the Lariat only costs a little more after discounts. Stick with the XLT if: you mostly want towing, hauling, commuting, and weekend use without paying extra for features you won’t notice often.

One caveat: Ford package mixes change a lot, so compare the exact window stickers and check sold/completed listings before buying to see what people are actually paying.
