If your iPhone shows SOS Only, it usually means it can’t connect to your carrier’s network, but emergency calls still work.

Try these fixes in order:

  1. Turn Airplane Mode on and off for 15 seconds.
  2. Toggle Cellular Data off and back on in Settings > Cellular.
  3. Restart your iPhone.
  4. Check for a carrier settings update in Settings > General > About.
  5. Reinsert the SIM or check that your eSIM plan is active.
  6. Reset Network Settings in Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset.
  7. Update iOS in Settings > General > Software Update.
  8. If it still says SOS Only, contact your carrier to check for outages, account issues, or a bad SIM.

If you’re traveling, also make sure Data Roaming is on.
