QUESTION
Is a Fire TV Cube worth it if my TV already has apps?
A Fire TV Cube is typically worth about $70–$120 new and around $40–$80 used/refurbished. If your TV’s built-in apps are already fast, stable, and support everything you watch, I’d usually only pay the lower end of that range—or skip it entirely. Check sold/completed listings before buying, since prices swing a lot with sales and bundles.
It’s most worth it if you want:
- faster navigation than your TV’s built-in smart platform
- better hands-free voice control
- control of your TV, soundbar, and other devices from one box
- a backup if your TV’s apps are slow or stop getting updates
If your current TV apps are already smooth and you don’t care about Alexa voice control or home-theater integration, the Cube is more of a convenience upgrade than a must-buy.
