QUESTION
Is a Kindle worth it if I already read on my phone?
Yes—if you read books for more than short bursts, a Kindle is usually worth it even if your phone already works. The biggest upgrade is comfort: the e-ink screen is easier for long reading sessions, has far less distraction, works well in bright light, and the battery lasts much longer than a phone.
Skip it if you mostly read short articles, web pages, comics, PDFs, or you’re happy reading in a phone app for 10–15 minutes at a time. In that case, your phone is probably enough.
Best practical rule: if you read novels or nonfiction for 30+ minutes several times a week, a Kindle is worth considering. If you only read occasionally, try using your phone’s reading mode, dark mode, and notifications-off first.
