Usually yes if you order from Amazon at least monthly and you actively watch Prime Video; usually no if you order only a few times a year or Prime Video is the only show library you care about.

A practical way to decide:

  1. Estimate your shipping value: count how many Amazon orders you place per month that would otherwise have shipping fees or minimum-order friction.
  2. Estimate your video value: compare Prime Video to the standalone streaming services you would actually pay for instead.
  3. Ignore perks you do not use: music, reading, gaming, photo storage, grocery perks, and deals only matter if you would use them.
  4. Watch for ads and add-ons: Prime Video’s base catalog may include ads depending on the current plan terms, and many channels/rentals cost extra.

My rule of thumb: keep Prime if you use both shipping and Video every month. Cancel or pause if you mainly binge one or two shows, order infrequently, or can hit Amazon’s free-shipping minimum without Prime.
