Prime Canada is usually about CAD $9.99/month or CAD $99/year. If you only order twice a month, it’s often not worth it for shipping alone unless those orders are usually small enough that you’d otherwise pay shipping or be forced to add extra items to hit the free-shipping minimum. It can still be worth it if you also use Prime Video, Music/Reading/Gaming, or you care a lot about faster delivery.

Rule of thumb:

  • Worth it: you regularly place small orders, would otherwise pay about CAD $5–$10+ per order in shipping, or you use the streaming/perk bundle.
  • Not worth it: your orders already qualify for free shipping, you can wait a few days, or you rarely use the other Prime benefits.

A quick way to decide: look at your last 2–3 months of Amazon.ca orders and estimate how much shipping Prime would have saved you. If that savings is less than about CAD $100/year and you don’t care about the perks, skip it. Prices and perks can change, so it’s worth checking Amazon.ca’s current Prime fee and recent order history before subscribing.
