For mostly city driving, the Mazda 3 Turbo is usually not the best value unless you specifically want the extra punch and are willing to pay for it. A good rule of thumb is:

  • Mazda 3 2.5 (non-turbo): about $25,000–$30,000 new / about $18,000–$26,000 used
  • Mazda 3 Turbo: about $33,000–$38,000 new / about $25,000–$34,000 used

The Turbo is worth it if you want quicker acceleration, easier highway merging, and a more premium feel. But for stop-and-go traffic, short errands, and parking-heavy use, the regular 2.5 is usually the smarter pick because it costs less to buy and typically gets better fuel economy.

Bottom line: for mostly city driving, I’d usually pick the non-turbo Mazda 3 unless you strongly value the extra power and upgraded trim. Prices vary by mileage, trim, and market, so check sold/completed listings before buying.
