A phone getting slightly warm while charging is normal. Charging isn’t perfectly efficient, so some energy turns into heat.
Common reasons it gets hotter:
- Fast charging pushes more power, which creates more heat.
- Using the phone while charging adds processor heat on top of charging heat.
- A thick case can trap heat.
- Soft surfaces or hot rooms reduce cooling.
- Cheap or damaged chargers/cables can deliver power unevenly and run hotter.
To keep it cooler:
- Remove the case if it feels hot.
- Avoid gaming, streaming, or GPS while charging.
- Charge on a hard, flat surface.
- Keep it out of direct sun.
- Use a certified charger and cable.
If the phone is hot to the touch or shows a temperature warning, stop charging and let it cool down.
