Why do toddlers love boxes more than toys?

Toddlers love boxes because boxes do more with less.

A toy usually tells them how to play. A box gives them room to invent. It can be a car, fort, hideout, bed, drum, or rocket, so it feeds imagination better than many “correct-use” toys.

Boxes also fit toddler development:
