Why does my Wi-Fi work on my phone but not my laptop?

Usually it’s a laptop-side issue, not your internet. If your phone works on the same Wi‑Fi, the router is probably fine.

Try these in order:

• Turn Wi‑Fi off/on and make sure Airplane Mode is off.
• Forget the network on the laptop, then reconnect and re-enter the password.
• Temporarily disable VPN, proxy, antivirus, or firewall software.
• Restart the laptop, then restart the router.
• If it says “connected, no internet,” renew the IP address / DHCP lease.
• On Windows, check that the Wi‑Fi adapter is enabled and update the driver.

If the laptop works on a hotspot or another Wi‑Fi, the issue is likely the home network settings. If it fails everywhere, the laptop’s adapter or driver is the likely cause.
