Will Apple Intelligence work without internet?

Mostly, yes — Apple Intelligence is designed to run many tasks directly on your device, so it can work without internet for a lot of everyday requests once it’s set up on a supported device.

That said, it is not fully offline in every case. When a request is more complex or your device can’t handle it locally, Apple Intelligence may use Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, which requires internet. Features that call out to outside services, such as ChatGPT integration, also need an internet connection.

Also, Apple Intelligence is only available on supported hardware, including iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max and newer devices with A17 Pro or later, and iPads/Macs with M1 or later chips.
